Early 2026 update: survey results and what's next.

Hello Madison Corps Alumni,

spd pp drumResults from the last survey indicated that the majority of alumni found the Ireland parade to be the most desirable venue for a group experience. We're happy to inform you that we've already been accepted to perform in the St. Patrick's Day parade in Ireland in 2028, whether or not we choose to go. We are also reviewing the other options in our survey to prevent the disappointment of the Rose Parade. The second most popular was the Parade in Hawaii; the third was in Hollywood, California; the fourth was in Texas; and the fifth was Veterans' Day in New York.

We are still evaluating participation costs and the best method for members. We'll be sending out a survey soon to gauge how much schedule and financial independence participants are comfortable with, along with rough cost estimates. That will include options for housing, travel, and even tourist-related activities, if there is a strong enough desire for a tour company package.

We are looking at a couple of local events to use for our group to develop its performance identity. This potential opportunity would be a chance not only to meet our members and staff, but also to dust off our performance chops.

Stay tuned!

Happy Veterans Day to our alumni who have served in the Armed Forces.

Hello Madison Corps Alumni members and other interested alumni,

First, thank you to over 100 alumni members who completed our survey. You have been a great help in determining our next adventure. We want to give every eligible alumni member the chance to offer their thoughts and suggestions for our next project together, so we are accepting the form until the end of the day on December 31, 2025.

Here is a reminder that we have gathered five unique opportunities that we would like to gauge your interest in participating in, starting in 2027, with a first international performance opportunity potentially taking place in Ireland in 2028.

Note: We may even do more than one event, so please select all ideas that interest you or select "None of the above" if no interest.

Below are the five ideas for future projects, along with their corresponding links for you to conduct a more in-depth review:

  1. St Patrick’s Dublin Parade (Ireland) 1.5 mi (Annually held on March 17th) - https://stpatricksfestival.ie/
  2. Hollywood Christmastime Parade (CA) 3.3 mi (Evening event annually held the Sunday following Thanksgiving) - http://www.thehollywoodchristmasparade.com/
  3. Pearl Harbor Parade (HI) 1.2 mi (Evening parade annually held on Dec 7th) - https://www.pearlharborparade.org/home
  4. Fiesta Flambeau Parade in San Antonio (TX) 3.1 mi (Evening annually in April) - https://www.flambeau.org/

Hello Madison Corps Alumni members and other interested alumni,

First, we would like to acknowledge that almost all of the registered Rose Parade members who responded to our last email are sticking with us, which makes us excited to move forward in our future event exploration process. August 2025 - Latest Update from the Rose Committee

  • future
  • update
August 22, 2025
Dear Madison Corps Alumni (MCA) members,

We are disappointed and sorry to inform you that we have not been selected to perform in the 2027 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. The issue, in part, is that the applicants' video performances heavily influence the committee's decision. While we submitted a variety of videos of Madison Scouts, Madison Scouts Alumni performances, and including a video of last year’s Madison Scouts performance, there is nothing available that includes us all as a single organization, as we have not performed together…yet. So, let's look forward. We are committed to doing something together. Again, the groups involved are alumni from the 32nd Hussar, State Street Review, Madison Scouts, Madison Junior Scouts, CapitolAires, CapitolAire Petites, Capital Sound, and SouthWind.

We still believe in offering this group an opportunity for wonderful memories doing what we all loved doing, so we will be meeting this fall to discuss potential projects beyond our targeted Rose Parade experience. That being said, we would also like to hear your suggestions. While we welcome all ideas, please realize that we are focusing on performances that do not involve the use of pit equipment, and something that will take a minimum amount of rehearsal time with our unique project. We are open to considering local, regional, national, and even international opportunities.
