Dear all Madison Corps Alumni-
Thank you for taking the time to fill out our most recent alumni survey.
After overwhelming positive responses sent to us, we have decided to reapply for the 2027 Rose Parade.
Moving forward:
1. You do not need to do anything if you have registered and paid your deposit on our website.
2. If you have not registered and paid your deposit, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. This includes the few of you who received refunds from us. You will need to reapply/register/pay.
3. Please encourage other alumni from any of the Madison-based corps to register and make a deposit (Madison Scouts, Capitolaires, Jr Scouts, Petites, Capitol Sound, 32nd Hussar, Southwind). Members of the 2027 Madison Scouts will also be involved.
4. Check our website on occasion for updated information.
5. Contact us with any questions or concerns.
Rest assured that you may ask for your deposit back if your circumstances change.
Please keep in mind that the cost will increase from what we were originally quoted. We will notify you once we have a relatively solid idea of the change.
If you are looking for other performance opportunities to get your chops and body in shape and to spend time with other alumni, simply:
1. March in the Oktoberfest annual Blue Star alumni parade in LaCrosse, WI (any alumni are welcome). Please email
2. Play the Star Spangled Banner at the annual shows in Middleton, WI, and/or Whitewater, WI. Please email
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Craig Mason, David Lofy, Scott Pearson
As almost everyone now knows, the Rose Parade Committee did not select us for the 2026 parade. The choice came down to a tie between our group and a Wisconsin High School. Since it was evenly split, the acting chairperson cast the tie-breaking vote for the band.
We spoke directly with one of the committee board members who had voted for us and recommended that we apply again for the 2027 event. It is noted that one of the people who voted for us in the split decision will be next year's chairperson. From a historical perspective, we have discovered that very few organizations are selected on their first try, and we've talked with a few who have tried for many years and are still waiting for their chance.
Our application for participation in the 2026 Rose Parade has been submitted. We should know by early fall, at the latest, of our potential involvement. Designers for color guard work, music, parade block, and teaching staff have been selected. A logo and uniform designs are also being explored. Be sure to “spread the word” to fellow alumni! Meanwhile, you can claim your spot by registering today and paying for your $100 deposit. Click the Join button on the main menu.
